Palais De Versailles 1979
Versailles. The most magnificent palace the world has ever know, symbolizing the genius of the 18th century. Created by kings with unlimited imagination and gold.
Versailles is one of the singularly most opulent royal dwellings in the world. Loui XIV, known as the Sun King, created Versailles as a beautiful and cultural background for the power and intrigue of his court. Throughout the years there resided the famous and the infamous: Madame Pompadour, the Dauphins and Dauphines of France, Louis XV, Loius XVI, and Marie-Antoinette the most illustrious Queen France has ever known.
Loius XIV, designer-builder of Le Palais de Versailles was noted for his impeccable and inventive taste. Nothing was too regal or too impossible for him to achieve. His accomplishments are best seen in the tapestries by Gobelin, rock crystal chandeliers, detailed boiserie, carved and gilded ceilings and boulle furniture.
Elizabeth Arden was proud to have had a special opportunity to translate these magnificent designs into the 1979 Christmas Porcelain Collection.
Porcelains are a precious and treasured tradition with Elizabeth Arden. They found them to be elegant objets d'arts to enliven and add charm to every room. A gift of porcelain is a timeless one. Beautiful, romantic, personal, thoughtful. Each porcelain piece in this years collection is a hand decorated limited edition made in Japan exclusively for Elizabeth Arden. A collectors piece. A rememberance of Le Palais de Versailles to give to those you love.
