In 1990, The Longaberger Company extended its range of products to include pottery . Each piece is hand-finished to eliminate mold seams, giving the pottery a more finished and rounded-off look. Designs include a distinct ball and petal motif, and an embossed weave pattern. Although the pottery was first produced in Ohio, some is now made in China. Earlier pieces, except the Heirloom Ivory range, were hand-painted with the four petal motif in one of three colors: Traditional Red, Classic Blue, or Heritage Green . Plates were embossed with the woven "L" logo.
From 1990 to late 1991, Longaberger Pottery was made by Friendship Pottery in Roseville, Ohio. Each plate had a creamy white body, and was dated and initialed. When production moved to the Sterling Pottery in East Liverpool, Ohio, plates were embossed with a black woven "L," and had a brighter white body. Plates no longer showed a date or initial. In 2005, production was outsourced to China, but Collector ’ s Club items and specialist ranges are currently produced in America following complaints from club members. If pottery bears no "Made in USA ," "Made in East Liverpool, Ohio," or "Roseville" marking, it was probably made in China.
