This lovely restaurant ware soup bowl in the WEBSTER pattern manufactured by the Syracuse China Company on the Syralite blank. This pattern features an elaborate rust and black border design with acanthus scrolls, flowers, leaves, and beads on a white background. This is a very popular restaurant pattern, with a classical look, graced the tables of innumerable establishments. Webster is often associated with the Fred Harvey chain and is documented as having been used at the El Tovar Hotel in the Grand Canyon. A postcard from Rod's 1920s Road House in West Orange, New Jersey shows a fully-set dining room with Webster on the tables. This coupe soup bowl measures 7 3/8" in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. Just a lovely piece of vintage Syracuse China that you are sure to want to add to your Webster Restaurant Ware Collection.
